Description:

Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) was established in 1920 in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. It is a National Key University with science and engineering as its core and has developed with management, liberal arts, economy, law and other disciplines.Together with Weihai Campus and Shenzhen Campus, HIT forms the pattern of “One University, Three Campuses.” Presently HIT is a member of China’s top nine University Union (C9).

International Center for Applied Mechanics at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT-ICAM) is a new organization led by Mechanics Subject in Harbin Institute of Technology, which focuses on the cutting-edge researches in various frontiers of mechanics and aims to spearhead research efforts in developing advanced applied mechanics as well as carries more multi-level international cooperation and exchange activities. HIT-ICAM engaged a number of expert professionals in the Mechanics, ensuring that the Center maintains high scientific standards.

Main responsibilities:

Ø Develop fundamental and applied research activities;

Ø Supervise graduate students;

Ø Teach at graduate and undergraduate levels.

Requirements:

Ø A PhD - completed or near completion in the field of Solid Mechanics, Smart and Multifunctional Materials and Structures, Mechanics of Composite Materials, Dynamics and Control, Fluid Mechanics, etc.

Ø Have a strong interest and good aptitude for teaching, university pedagogy as well as research, development and innovation.

Ø A desire and aptitude to contribute to a successful and fast-growing educational and research establishment.

Ø Track record of research and publication in international peer-reviewed journals (or demonstrate potential to develop this, for junior candidates)

Ø An ability to contribute to different undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs

Ø Knowledge of Chinese is not required, but is a plus.
