Dr. Xin LAN received his B.S. degree (2005) and Ph.D. degree (2010) from the School of Astronautics at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) China, and researched as visiting scholar in Nanyang Technological University (2007) and Harvard University (2010). He is currently a full professor in HIT, and works in the Center of Smart Materials and Structures directed by Prof. Jinsong Leng. His research focuses on the mechanics of smart material structures, vibration dynamics, and active vibration control based on smart materials, including active vibration reduction and noise control with piezoelectric materials, mechanical metamaterials for noise control, and the corresponding applications for shipping, aviation, and aerospace. He has published over 50 papers, which were cited more than 2,000 times.
