Biography:
Dr. Xiaoxian Zhang, Associate Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology. He received his BEng. from Jilin University in 2018, MSc. from Imperial College London in 2019 and PhD (full scholarship, distinctions awards) from Imperial College London in 2023. His research interests are in the fundamentals of deformation and fatigue fracture particularly relating to nickel-based shape memory alloys (SMAs) and includes computational crystal plasticity, characterization, mechanical tests. Applications include SMA training, fatigue crack initiation and microstructure evolution.
