Prof. Liwu Liu

Liwu Liu is a professor from Harbin Institute of Technology in China. He is one of the National level high-level talents, deputy director of the Department of Aerospace Science and Mechanics, and International Center for Applied Mechanics at HIT. His research has been focusing on the mechanics of smart soft materials, smart structures, and their aerospace applications. He has published over 100 papers in SCI journals, and 50 Chinese patents. He has directed over 10 scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He is the secretary-general of the Working Group on Soft Matter Mechanics of the Chinese Society of Mechanics and deputy director of the Smart Composite Materials Committee of the Chinese Society for Composite Materials, editorial board members and young editors of the Journal of Experimental Mechanics, Advances in Mechanics, and Journal of Harbin Institute of Technology, etc. He was awarded National level young talents, the Second Prize of National Natural Science (ranked 5th), and the Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in China's Higher Education Institutions in 2021 (ranked 4th).
